Everything was perfect. Our room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was amazing - thank you Jane. Steve was helpful in directing us to the best spots to visit. Only problem - the towels were too soft. Even the other guests were nice and helpful.

Cozy little B&B in Bar Harbor. Great location and walking distance to downtown. Breakfast was tasty each morning with more than enough to eat. The Innkeepers were very accommodating and more than willing to answer questions about the local area or give suggestions for a day's agenda. I highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I visited Bar Harbor in early October 2014 as part of our annual visit to New England. We picked Aysgarth Station partly based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Well placed on a quiet street close to town, we were warmly welcomed, our room was well appointed and comfortable and breakfast was a treat. Parking is a bit limited, but in typical New England style, guests simply popped their car keys in a box in the hall so that cars could be moved as required. Great value.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights on a recent trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia and had a lovely time. Steve and Jane are both extremely gracious hosts who make you feel welcome without being intrusive. We only had two full days to explore Acadia, so we asked Steve for hiking advice. We hiked every trail he suggested and were impressed with all of them. Plus, the B&B has trail guides and maps that guests can borrow, which saved us from having to buy our own. The atmosphere at the B&B was warm and inviting largely because of the delicious food (breakfasts and afternoon snacks), the charming hosts, and the two adorable resident cats. We stayed in the Treefall room on the third floor, which was great because we weren't sharing walls with other rooms, and no one was above us (our floor creaked, so I imagine the people below us could hear us walking around). The whole place was very quiet at night. Be warned, however, that if you want to sleep late, you will probably be awakened by nearby church bells around 7 AM. This wasn't a problem for us since we were up by then anyway. The only complaint I had about the room was the mattress, which was extremely firm and uncomfortable for me, especially the first night. The B&B is within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, so there's no need to drive to any of that sort of thing. Parking at the inn is on the street. We never had a problem finding a spot, though we did have to park maybe a block away one night. Not really a big deal. I would definitely stay here again the next time we go to Acadia. This place is a great find!

Stayed at Aysgarth in March (not peak tourist season) when I was at Bar Barbor on a job interview. Had a wonderful stay. The food was great, the atmosphere is welcoming, beds are comfortable. Steve and Jane are both great people. I recommend Aysgarth highly.

An AWESOME B&B. The owners are so accommodating and nice! Jane, please come cook food for me in CA! Haha. Breakfast was delicious- egg packets with cheese, avocado, sun-dried tomato, and ham. Homemade coffee cake and butternut squash bread. Her earl grey tea shortbread cookies were a yummy tea time treat. The rooms are small but homey. They even give you choc-covered blueberries :) Highly recommend if you are ever in the Bar Harbor area. Very close to all the shops and eateries.

stayed at Aysgarth for two nights at the end of the season. Innkeepers were very cool - left us alone for the duration of our stay but provided fantastic breakfast both mornings. had all the charm of an older house but still felt like an inn as opposed to a room in someone's house. location was very convenient and Jane and Steve had lots of good information to share about the park and the town. A+!

My husband and I have stayed at Aysgarth Station twice now for our anniversary. We have enjoyed it immensely both times. Jane is a phenomenal cook and both she and Steve are knowledgeable about the area and events. The rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable. We really have enjoyed the "at home" atmosphere around the breakfast table as well. We're so happy with our stays that we plan to make our anniversary trip annual and have made reservations for several other family members for the upcoming year.

Once you stay here, you won't want to stay anywhere else (which is why I don't really want to write a review, I don't want the masses to discover this gem and ruin my chances of getting future reservations!). From Jane's outstanding gourmet breakfasts (i.e. puff pastry filled with egg, basil, prosciutto) and rib-sticking afternoon snacks (chestnut flour cake with creme fraiche) to warm hospitality and well-appointed, cozy rooms, this is my personal heaven on earth. Jane and Steve are incredible hosts, charming and authentic, providing just the right amount of interaction and as much helpful Acadia and Bar Harbor information as one needs. There are two cats, Warwick and Asticou, who also provide their own hospitality and welcome in the way of sitting on any available laps in the downstairs sitting area. I have stayed here now perhaps 4 or 5 times. Just a few nights here each year provides the sense of nourishment and relaxation needed to sustain me for the other 362 days I am not here. Maybe I go a bit overboard, but every visit has been consistently wonderful. With the trifecta of Aysgarth, Bar Harbor, and gorgeous Acadia, who needs the Florida keys or Bermuda? Yes, I would like to keep writing about the multi-course breakfasts, fresh breads and pastries made daily, wonderful boxed lunches you can order that really feed two people, all the thoughtful amenities provided in the rooms, but at this point you should just book a room and see for yourself. BTW, Jane can accommodate gluten-free, vegan, etc., food needs, and does so quite deliciously with her extensive culinary skills. Warning: there is NO TV anywhere, making one attend to the things that really matter in life: good food, good company, good cats, the outdoors (when not at the b&b) and relaxation!

located within walking distance of pretty much everything bar harbor has to offer, aysgarth station is a fantastic place to stay if you are ever the area. the rooms well appointed and comfortable, the breakfast and other snacks/beverages throughout the day were delicious, but most importantly the innkeepers jane and steve are welcoming, inviting, and hilarious. their quick wit and great sense of humor was not lost on me or my partner. they are genuine people who seem to be in the business for all the right reasons. they were as present as they needed to be without being imposing. their knowledge of bar harbor and acadia national park were incredibly helpful. the only bummer of the experience was that we couldn't stay there a second night as there was no availability. that is what we get for planning a trip to bar harbor in the middle of august with two weeks notice. and after staying at 4 different bed and breakfasts over 4 days this would be the first place we would choose to return.

We needed a place to stay and had no reservation. While looking in the Maine accomodations brochure we noticed this inn. We called them and without much hesitation made the reservation just by the way Steve's manners over the phone. Needless, to say we were enchanted by this inn. It has been lovingly restored to standards that even Queen Victoria would not object to. We would highly recommend it and are even planning our next visit in July.
